Neurodiversity is an umbrella term.  Below Neurodiversity fall two categories – either Neurotypical or Neurodivergent.  Neurotypical are those without ADHD or Autism and Neurodivergent are for those who do have ADHD and/or Autism.

In general terms, where someone who is Neurotypical will have the ability to carry out any kind of task to a specific level demonstrated in the illustration below.

Someone who is Neurodivergent will have the ability to carry out any kind of task to a level demonstrated below with them either struggling a lot (lower than someone who is Neurotypical) or excelling in it a lot (higher than someone who is Neurotypical). 

The areas people with ADHD excel at are often referred to as their ‘superpowers’.  However, the areas that they struggle with require support by way of understanding, strategies, reasonable adjustments to ensure there is a level playing field in work, school and life.
